7 days 6 Nights in Berlin

This trip is probably one of my favourite holidays to date, it started with two sleep deprived people trying to navigate a foreign transport system ( not the best idea we ever had), but once we found our feet - I think we instantly fell in love with Berlin. We based ourselves in a super affordable Air BnB flat on the East side just a short walk from the Spree river. The second best thing about our BnB , was that there was an amazing coffee shop right opposite our front door!

We were beyond blessed to have amazing sunny weather almost everyday, we spent our free evenings joining the locals with a beer along the river bank. If you have ever been here, you'l know that Berlin is well known for having AMAZING food! I definitely recommend stopping by Burgermeister one of the best burger places in town!

As the weather was just too amazing to not enjoy, Pinterest led us to Badeschiff - a container pool based only 10 min from our BnB :) Nothing could possibly beat been in the sun, with a pool and beer in hand! We had to resist the urge to just spend everyday there! Not that we both drink beer - when in Germany one drinks Beer! And this Lemon Beer we found at the Badeschiff suited the mood just perfectly!

We spent one of our mornings exploring the Tiergarten, which surrounds the Victory Column. The gardens are beautiful and one can walk for days! You can also go to the top of the Victory column from which you get amazing views of the city. That afternoon, we ended our day walking through the holocaust memorial. It is beyond breathtaking and a truly memorable experience.

When we weren't at the pool side, we spent sometime touring the city , its amazing architecture and the Berlin Wall. Berlin also has about 100 'Buddy Bears' scattered across the city from a previous display, which adds a fun element of 'eye spy' to your day! We sadly didn't find them all. Some of the sights we checked off our list were: Alexanderplatz, Gendarmenmarkt, Potsdamer Platz, Check Point Charlie, Reichstag Building and Bebelplatz. Thanks to our trusty friend Pinterest, we also found a old Theme Park which was slightly spooky to explore!

We both absolutely loved this city! The people were just so friendly, the city was clean and super easy to navigate and the food was just too delicious! German just has so much history, seeing it in person just makes it even more spectacular. It is always difficult to express the culture and feeling one gets in this city through words, but I am sure that if we had had the choice I think we both would be back in a heart beat!
