#alisoncomestotown - How to see London in a Day!

Initially I wasn't going to blog about this day ( I mean its just a day in London) but it was so EPIC that I just had to! As I said in the previous blog, our schedule was full to the brim so we very ambitiously allocated a total of ONE day to see London ( lets remember dear Ali has not see London before)!

As any day should start - we started with our caffeine fix at the Attendant Coffee Shop, a unique coffee stop in a refurbished underground bathroom! Yes its clean and no longer used! But serves an amazing cup of coffee! After out fix we started with a stool down Oxford and Regnant streets for the ultimate shopping experience!

We then headed towards Hyde Park, trying to be time efficient and see as much as we can, we decided to see Hyde Park by bicycle! It is probably one of the best ways to do it! We were able to see all four corners, including the Royal Albert Hall, Italian garden, Marble Arch and we saved out feet a lot of walking!

Our next stop was Buckingham Palace, a detour through Green Park! As with most landmarks in London - it's mostly a 'ooh that's pretty!" take a picture/selfie and you can tick it off your list! So after we admired the palace and laughed at the guards we headed to Covent Garden for lunch. Now if you haven'y had Shake Shack you are truly missing out on life! They make the BEST burgers/cheesy-fries and to top it off ... milkshakes! I couldn't leave this important 'must have' out of our London day! Covent Garden is also just amazing and there are always talented musicians busking !

Next stop was Piccadilly Circus ( a UK version of Time's Square) and Leicester Square, the home of the famous M&M's World! Where we tried not to get squished by the many other tourists before navigating towards Trafalgar Square.

I some how managed to forget about Harrods! ( I know right ... terrible tour guide), so we had to back track a little :( out of the millions of levels to choose from, the best is by far the food hall! So many yummy things to stare at ! but we settled for a few gifts and treated ourselves to Harrods famous Macaroons!

After stuffing our eyes ( yes our eyes - we aren't rich enough to do anything but eat with our eyes!), we headed in the direction of the south bank. On the way we stopped off to say hello to Ben and Westminster Abbey. Despite been almost walked out, we weren't giving up! South Bank is probably one of my favorite parts of London, there is just so much going on and the views are spectacular!

The South Bank provided endless entertainment ( amazing sand castles and busking) as well as allowing us to tick off a few more sites such as the London Eye, Shakespeare's Globe, Ruins of Winchester and of course an education of the more modern buildings, more commonly known as the Gherkin, Shard, Grater and Walkie Talkie! We also took a spontaneous detour through Borough Market and tried to see if Bridget Jones was home, but sadly not :/ And then finally, the cherry on top ( ie my most favorite sight of all) Tower Bridge and the Tower of London!

So, just in case you weren't counting ... we managed to see 23 sights all in one day! Ticking off pretty much all of the 'must see's and do's' of London! It was so much fun making a day of London and making it out mission to do it all, and prove all that said we wouldn't ... that we did! And to top off the great day, London provided us with a magnificent sunset to bid us farewell!
